Breastfeeding is a unique and deeply personal experience -
shouldn't your care be the same?
Whether your goal is to breastfeed for a few weeks, a few months, a year, or until your child self weans, I'm happy to provide you encouragement and evidence based information. A premature or difficult birth, the return to work, and even the stress of daily life can bring challenges to your breastfeeding relationship. I will work with you to develop a care plan that meets your specific needs.
I offer a wide range of services including:
- Breastfeeding Classes - Individual and Group classes - partners are strongly encouraged to attend.
- Newborn Consultations - In your home - see below.
- General Consultations - Either in your home or via phone to assist you with preparing to return to work,
introducing solids, or beginning the weaning process. Priced individually based on the needs of the client
- Medication Questions - Evaluate specific medications and their impact on or safety with breastfeeding.
Especially helpful for those facing scans, surgical, or dental procedures where Mothers may be told to "pump-N-
dump" for 24 hours when that may be outside of current guidelines.
- Telephone and E-Mail Support - For potential clients who have some questions but don't need a full
consultation, or for established clients needing additional support.
Discounts are available for active duty military and veterans, clergy, as well as teen mothers - check out our Discounts page for more details.

Describe a typical Newborn Consultation?
Typically 1 1/2 to 2 hours
- Identify your unique breastfeeding goals and any concerns
- Gather a medical history including previous births, breastfeeding experiences and breast surgeries
- Gather information on how breastfeeding has been going
- Weigh your baby and gather any medical history
- Perform a suck evaluation and complete exam of your baby's oral structures as well as reflexes
- Observe a complete breastfeeding session
- Provide a written care plan to confirm goals and address any concerns or feeding issues
- Provide a written report to your care provider
- 30 minutes of telephone or e-mail follow up support
If you have Aetna or Cofinity insurance, I will bill your insurance directly for services. If you have other insurance, I will provide you a superbill with appropriate diagnostic codes and billing codes so you may submit to your insurance for reimbursement. The Affordable Care Act requires insurance companies to cover the cost for IBCLC care.
An additional $0.60 per mile charge is applied for distances over 40 miles round trip (*this is not billable to or reimbursable from insurance). Generally, you and your baby will need only one in-home visit and some telephone follow up (30 minutes included) to ensure things are going smoothly.

The Cost of Formula Feeding...
The average family will spend a whopping $126 - $283 on store bought powdered formula in the first month alone. With older babies eating more, a family can expect to spend between $1,900 to just over $4,000 on powdered artificial baby milk in the first year!! A family choosing artificial baby milk can also factor in additional physician co-pays, prescriptions, and days off work due to more frequent illnesses and ear infections.
Mothers who choose artificial baby milk find it harder to loose weight postpartum, have increased risk of depression, obesity, and type II diabetes. They have higher stress levels, sleep less, have a higher risk of breast and other female cancers and osteoporosis.
